October Fun!

October has been really great! I've been feeling good and making more time for socializing and fun stuff!

We went to First Friday in Venice this month with a few friends. Food trucks lined up all along the streets and people waiting in crazy lines for them! Plus there was some night life out and it was fun people watching! Laine found this great old gate for a backdrop and made me stand in front to take a few shots. I was so tired! AND wearing my Awana uniform~

Then we saw crazy stilts man. 

He was kinda cool! 

It was a fun start to our month! We did two weddings this month! First was Cherry's (previous blog) and then last weekend a couple from the church! Laine was their MC! He did a great job!! This weekend we went to the pumpkin patch with some friends!

 We did the haunted maze and ate tons of amazing food!! Including a BBQ pork sandwich and funnel cakes. 

I've been getting bigger every day! Which is such a good thing! I can't wait till Keane gets here! I'm 32 weeks now and it's just crazy to think we only have a few more weeks to go! All seems to be going well so far, so please continue to pray for a healthy baby and safe delivery when it's time for Keane to arrive! Still have a trip to Redding, 2 baby showers, and a visit from my mom and dad before he even get's here! But I know it will just fly bye! Tomorrow I have another Dr.'s apt and we will continue to keep you posted on how things go!!

Weekend in San Diego

What a crazy weekend it was! Friday, we left for San Diego and what shoulda've been a 2.5 hour trip ended up being almost 4 hours!! Right when we were leaving our place it started raining, which is never a good sign! If there's rain, there's traffic! It cleared up when we got to Irvine, but by this time, traffic rush was at it's fullest all the way to our destination. NOT FUN! When we finally got there, I had just missed the rehearsal! I pulled up right when they were finished! So we went to dinner and enjoyed the rest of our time there.

Saturday started at 8:00 a.m. and was a very long day! Our hotel was in this adorable area of S.D. called Little Italy and for lunch, Laine brought me the best meatball sandwich I've ever had in my life from a deli where they pack their own meat! SO GOOD!! After hair and makeup, pictures were at 2:30 and ceremony was around 3:45. It was a beautiful day! NOT KIDDING! One of the most perfect weather days I've seen in a while. Not too hot, breezy and not a cloud in the sky! The location was a beach park in the harbor so there were all these amazing boats around. It was so nice! Here's some of Laine's shots right after the ceremony:

This was one of the three flower girls. She is Cherry's (the brides) niece. She was not happy during the ceremony until the recession, then she was all smiles and playing with bubbles. She was so cute!

I LOVED our bouquets! They were callalillies and orchids and little white feathers! So pretty!!

Cherry was and IS so beautiful! He dress was so cute and she was just stunning!

Next we headed back to our hotel for the reception. They had a rooftop set up with cabana's and an amazing view of the ocean! Plus the weather was just so perfect!

Laine got this amazing picture of the sunset. Totally reminds me of the song John Mayer sings called 3x5 only it talks about sunrise not sunset... "shoulda seen that sunrise with your own eyes. It brought me back to life" Ayway, point is, a picture can't capture how beautiful that night was. It was awesome!

The happy couple! Bill and Cherry off to play in the photo booth! It was really fun! They had the photo booth and then used those pics for their guest book! It was so cute!! And a lot of fun!

We got home yesterday morning since Laine had to be at the church by 9:00 a.m. and after a really long day at church, we came home and took a nice long nap, watched the newest transformers movie and then went straight back to bed! We needed the rest!!

Laine just got his new camera last week and here are a few pics that he's been messing around with.

Our sweet little girl. Shes such a princess! Whenever she saw Laine playing with the camera, NO JOKE, she would go straight to him and look at him, or pose, or lay down all pretty!! SO FUNNY!!

Now that we are all rested up, we are getting back to things this week. Laine has to work today and I have a lot of WashingSpot things to take care of. There are a lot more pictures to come with Laine's camera. He's really getting the hang of it and getting some really good shots! I'm so glad we got one!!

Zootastic!

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Andrew. It was really fun. I didn't really know the LA zoo would be any good, but it was pretty nice and God really blessed our time together! We were in line to order tickets when a lady came up and offered us a free ticket! That was totally the Lord! Then we had great weather and it wasn't that crowded. We had a slushy and did almost the whole park in 2 hours! Plus, they have STUFFED CHURROS!! Who knew that even existed?!?!?? That's right, CARAMEL FILLED CHURROS!! Mmmm...

We had a great time and enjoyed our time together! We can't wait to take Keane next time!

Ginormous hands and feet!

So sorry it's been so long! I looked at my last entry and I was hoping for no morning sickness, but I didn't get so lucky. It hit me hard! I am six months now and I still have an occasional episode. But I'm much happier with morning sickness once every couple weeks than three or four times a day! Now I'm dealing with my bloating phalanges. My poor little fingers and toes have turned into marshmallows! I truly feel like Michelin tire man! Last night, I was in the kitchen for hours trying to cook a couple of dishes and by the time I was finished, I could feel the fat jiggling on top of my feet!! There's even fat creases!  So I go back to elevating everything until major swelling goes down.



On a much more fun note, we found out we are having a boy!! Sweet little Keane Alex Furukawa! We can't wait! He's so active in there! He's just like his dad already! Yesterday I got some pool time and Keane loved it! I am so excited for his arrival!

Well I will definitely try to do more entries more often! I must admit I had the intentions of being better at this, but my morning sickness took over a lot of me! Now that I'm feeling better, you should hear more from me!

Where do babies come from?

It's been almost 2 weeks since Laine and I found out about our new addition and I REALLY can't believe how we've managed to keep our mouths shut all this time! I mean with everyone asking us when we are gonna have a baby, to the silly nonchalant comments about us being pregnant, we've pretty much became the worlds best liars!! Even our folks get asked! My mom texts me about once a week so far with excitement bursting out of her ears dying to tell her best friends, or someone!! And she gets asked quite often when will she be a grandparent (a bittersweet feeling for my youthful mother). Well, I don't know how my mom and Laine do it, but I've pretty much have been trying to isolate myself. Just until we have that first appointment, and then the cover is over! Laine has been so excited, it's so fun to watch him learn and plan for it too. He's picked a few names for a boy and a girl and thought deeply about each meaning. Plus, taking care of me in little ways. He helps so much with the dishes and other chores while I'm completely exhausted for no reason at all! Anyway, he's been really great!

I've been completely obsessed with pregnant movies. Last week was Father of the Bride 2. And this week I've been watching Knocked Up non stop! I just have to share one of my favorite scenes!!

I'm still 5 weeks and haven't hit my "morning sickness" phase. I'm hoping I get lucky!! But it is still really early and who knows what's in store. Until then...

Baby time!

The first post to our family blog! And I'm so excited to see what adventures God has in store for us. Laine and I have been together for almost 7 years now and 2 of it we've been happily married so it's about time that we say, YES! WE ARE EXPECTING!! We just found out yesterday when I took an at home pregnancy test which was positive. But I wasn't convinced, so I took a second one a few hours later, which was also positive! Laine was working, so I quickly baked some cupcakes and made him a congratulations card to surprise him when he came home. Plus, a 6 pack ;) I know the way to his heart! hehe

So, he walked in the door and I had him sit down. I handed him the card I made him and when he finally realized what was going on, he smiled and asked if I was serious, haha! Then he reached for his phone! He was so excited he wanted to tell everyone!! But only our parents got the phone calls and everyone else had to wait. We are now just planning and can't wait to see what happens in the next few months and years to come!!
